What are macarons?
Macarons are delicate and finicky French sandwich cookies made entirely of ground almonds, egg whites, and sugar that are then piped and baked at precise temperatures. They are not to be confused with the American macaroon! Two macaron shells are combined to hold a delicious filling that give it its flavor and wonderful signature texture.
I had my first taste of this sweet treat in Paris, at the original store that made them, Lauduree–they claim to sell 12,000 of them daily–and I was hooked.
Ever since, I’ve worked on making home-made ones just as delicious as Lauduree, combining unique flavors from both American and Asian culture and infusing them into this gourmet European cookie sandwich.
I use only the highest quality, freshest ingredients and make everything by my own hand.
I named this business after Mila, my little puppy, since my name (pronounced “um-rith-ahh”) is often difficult for people to remember
Additionally, I’ve extended my shop to cookies, cupcakes, tarts, and more.
